Couples Counseling in Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne

Let’s Talk

I offer couples counseling in Fair Oaks Ranch for adults from Boerne, San Antonio, and the surrounding Texas Hill Country. Secure video sessions are also available when both partners are physically located in Texas, Colorado, or Missouri.

You may still care deeply about each other and find yourselves having the same argument, withdrawing into silence, or struggling to repair trust. Counseling offers a place to look at what happens between you without reducing the relationship to a contest over who is right.

What brings couples to counseling

Some couples arrive after a specific rupture. Others notice a slower loss of contact: practical conversations have replaced personal ones, differences feel threatening, or one partner pursues a conversation while the other pulls away.

We can explore communication, recurring conflict, distance, and what each person wants from the relationship. You do not need to agree about the problem before the first call. We do need to consider whether meeting together is appropriate for both of you.

How I work with a couple

My approach is Gestalt therapy. Rather than only hearing separate accounts of the last argument, we pay attention to how you speak, listen, interrupt, withdraw, and reconnect during the session itself.

I may slow the conversation down so each person can notice what they are feeling and say more clearly what matters. The aim is not to erase your differences, but to understand the pattern between you and explore other ways of responding. Experiments are invitations, not requirements.

What counseling can and cannot promise

Counseling cannot guarantee that a relationship will continue or that another person will change. It can provide a setting to understand what is happening and consider choices with more awareness. We will discuss your goals rather than assume that both of you want the same outcome.

If there is fear, coercion, or violence in the relationship, joint sessions may not be appropriate. Mention safety concerns before arranging a couples appointment so we can consider a safer form of support. For immediate danger, call 911.

Meeting in Fair Oaks Ranch or online

The office is at 8000 Fair Oaks Parkway, Suite 3201, in Fair Oaks Ranch, not a separate Boerne office. For video sessions, each partner needs privacy and a reliable connection, and both must be physically in a state where I am licensed at the time of the appointment.

Fees and getting started

The first phone consultation is free and lasts about fifteen minutes. An intake session is $165, individual sessions are $145, and couples sessions are $185. Sessions run about an hour. Active-duty service members, veterans, and first responders receive discounted session rates.

New clients are self-pay, and I do not provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. We can discuss your questions before you book anything.

Common questions

What happens during the free phone consultation?

The call lasts about fifteen minutes. You can describe what is bringing you in, ask about the approach and practical details, and get a sense of whether I am the right counselor for you. There is no obligation to book. If I am not the right fit, I will say so and help you look for another option.

Do you accept insurance or provide a superbill?

New clients are self-pay. I am not taking on new clients who want to use insurance, and I do not provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Existing clients using insurance are unaffected by this policy for new clients.

Can I see you online if I live in Texas, Colorado, or Missouri?

Yes. I hold LPC licenses in Texas, Colorado, and Missouri and offer secure video sessions for adults and couples physically located in one of those states at the time of the session. If you will be elsewhere, tell me before the appointment so we can discuss whether it needs to be rescheduled.
